About

Until I moved to the private sector in 2017, I was an Assistant professor at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) at the Stockholm School of Economics.

My main research fields are political economics and development, with a particular focus on empirics. I have a special interest in emerging economies in general and Turkey in particular. My research has been mentioned in Bloomberg, The Economist, Financial Times, and the Harvard Business Review among others. Before I moved to the private sector, I used to blog on topics related to institutional development, and intermittently provided similar commentary. The content of this site, including analysis and expressed opinions, are strictly my own and do not necessarily reflect my those of my employer.
